Egyptian Trivia

Egyptian Trivia originated as a game of fun  for people living in Egypt, but developed into an educational tool for people of all ages. There are 750 questions covering three main categories: Ancient Egypt, Christian and Islamic Egypt, and Modern Egypt.  Not only will you have fun, but you will learn a lot about this exotic and wonderful country.  This game is copyrighted. If you wish to download the first few cards posted here (I don't know how, so don't ask me.) go ahead. Example Image Rules of the Game
1. Cards are mixed by a dealer. Players decide on the number of cards to be played (15-20 cards equal one hour of playing time).

2. The dealer places the cards in the center of the table and each player selects a card (clockwise from the dealer).

3. The player to the left of the dealer begins play by selecting the category he or she wishes to answer. The dealer may ask any question in the category.

4.  If the player answers correctly, he or she wins a point. The next question is asked and answered (from the same category). The player must answer all three questions correctly to enter the challenge round.

5. Hints and clues add fun to the game. Answering out of turn costs a point.

6.  Players may change their category each round.

7.  If a player answers a question incorrectly, the game enters a bonus round.

8.  In the bonus round the question is offered to each player in a clockwise direction beginning with the person to the left of the person who failed to answer the question, until it is answered or there are no more players. The person who answers the question correctly receives a point for answering the question and an additional point for each person who failed to answer the question. If no one answers the question correctly, everyone loses a point.

9. Yes and no and multiple choice questions do not enter the bonus round.

10. After the bonus round, normal play resumes. The next player must now answer questions read by the person to his right.

11. If a player answers all three questions in his chosen category correctly he or she enters a challenge round. The challenge question is the tenth question on the card and is designed to stump the player.

12. If the player answers the challenge question correctly, he or she receives a point and the chance to challenge all the questions on the card. For each correct answer the player receives a point. The player is not penalized for incorrect answers.

15. Play ends when all the cards have been used.

16. The player with the most points is the winner.
